Ken Whiteley is a Canadian roots music legend. His musical journey has taken him from jug band, folk and swing to blues, gospel and children’s music. Among numerous accolades, he has been awarded a Canadian Folk Music Award, Genie Award for Best Original Song in a Canadian film,Lifetime Achievement recognition from the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals and Mariposa Folk Festival. He has also been nominated for 7 Juno awards and 14 Maple Blues Awards. Ken’s live performances showcase his outstanding musicianship on guitars and mandolin, award winning original songs and his powerful vocals. As a producer of over 125 recording projects, Ken’s productions have garnered 10 Canadian Gold and Platinum records, 4 American Gold records, 22 Juno and 2 Grammy nominations, and sold over 8 million copies. Ken visits us from Toronto, Ontario.

JESS and RICHARD ARROWSMITH are no strangers to Goderich, having taught and performed at the Goderich Celtic Roots College/Festival with their awesome band Crucible. Last year we hosted their Crucible bandmate Gavin Davenport, and now it is Jess and Richard’s turn to shine. The Arrowsmiths are brilliant singers and instrumentalists, specializing in traditional English repertoire, bringing with them an exciting mix of tunes and harmony singing.

Heather Boa, Bullet News Goderich – Debbie Carroll and Bill Menzel know how to set the stage for a good house party. First, they line up a fantastic mix of local and more widely known musicians. They compile a guest list of about 30 from points across Huron County and beyond who pool donations, contribute a spare CD or previously read book as a door prize and perhaps bring along an appetizer. Then Carroll and Menzel rearrange furniture to fit about 30 people into their living room and set up an area for musicians for a Riverview House Concert.

TANNIS grew up in a musical family on a farm in the prairies of western Canada. In 1980 she moved to Ontario where she began a serious professional music career. During the 80s and 90s she was a founding member of various roots bands and appeared as a special guest on recordings and performances with groups such as the Rheostatics, the Barenaked Ladies and the Grievous Angels.

After eleven years with the legendary trio The Bird Sisters she struck off on her own in 2001. Her recordings and concerts are highly regarded by critics and audiences alike.
