Debbie loves to draw and has recently begun sketching in ink. This particular medium depends on varying strokes to create texture and depth. Debbie’s subjects often include nature, objects around the home and celebrations. Some of her work is available to purchase in the form of frame-worthy greeting cards. Each card is printed on quality card stock and measures approximately  11 x 14 cm (5.5″ x 4.125″). A high-quality cream-coloured envelope is included for each card.

Cards can be purchased directly from Goderich Makers Mercantile and Creative Space, 43 West Street, Goderich, Ontario, N7A 2K5 or ordered online by contacting Debbie.

Goderich Sunset

One of the wonderful things about living where my family does, in a small town on the shore of Lake Huron, is being able to go down to the beach and watch the sun go down over the water. Depending on the time of year and the weather, they can be brilliantly colourful, quietly subdued, or anything in between.

When our children were young and living at home, we had indoor house rabbits as pets. Our daughter now lives in England where she and her husband have two house rabbits – this one’s name is Caesar.

The first place I taught early childhood music was in Toronto with the Young Children’s Creative Music & Movement Classes. My boss Moira gave her teachers interesting and thoughtful Christmas gifts. One that I still treasure was this dreamcatcher.

Snails are known for arriving late, but their slow and steady pace has also linked them to the term snail-mail, which while it may take longer to get to its destination than an email, is ever so much more appreciated – especially when written in a pretty card.

Dragonflies are beautiful and so much fun to watch – they can fly forward, backward and they can hover. Did you know that having a dragonfly land on your head is a sign of good luck?
